Contemporary Quilt Challenge - Perspective

I've just joined my local  contemporary quilt group. This month we had a lecture on perspective and the monthly challenge was to make a 12 by 12 quilt showing perspective.

In addition to the lecture I got lots of ideas at Circle Line Art School on YouTube.

The quilt below was inspired by this video showing how to draw a birds eye city.

If It's Not Burning It's Not Art

I've been burning fabric again with a heat gun and a soldering iron. Luckily this time I worked at Alexander Park Craft House and didn't leave the revolting smell in my own home! These 2 pieces are made with no glue, no fusible, no machine stitching. The hand stitching is purely decorative and is not there to hold it together. They are cut and bonded with just a soldering iron. You can find out how to do this in Margaret Beal's book Fusing Fabric.

The experiment below does use fusible web and free machine embroidery. There are Angelina fibres, plastic film, thin metals and organza. Puff paint was scraped on top before I blasted it with the heat gun.

Drawings and Journals

Here are my latest journal pages. The one above uses a quote from the Lulu Art Challenge.

I'm still practising drawings faces. Here are my latest 2 inspired by Jane Davenport's book Beautiful Faces.
