Improv Quit Top

Last weekend I attended a quilt workshop "No Maths Sampler" with Phil Thomas from WAQA, The idea was to make many different quilt blocks and put them together in a random way; no planning. I still didn't manage to cut or sew straight!

This is a big quilt top, the biggest I have made at about 90cm by 130cm. Now all I have to do is put the wadding and backing on, quilt it and finish the edges....I might be some time!

Remember the mono-prints on fabric I made for this week's Gelli Arts® video? I've now quilted 3 of them using free motion stitch and bobbin work. They're bound and mounted onto canvas panels. each is about 8 inches square. Be sure to check out all three videos in the tutorial.

I've been continuing on with these layed Gelli® mono-prints. This time I'm working on paper and using some face stencils from Jane Davenport.

I've been using the book "Mixed Media Portraits" to help me draw some faces.

This book is really helpful and has some great diagrams to help get the proportions right.
