Books Galore

I've been making some pocket books which are constructed from a single sheet of paper (or fabric). I like to decorate tags to put into the 4 pockets. I've used prints, collage and markers.

This fabric book is made the same way just using fabric bonded onto craft weight interfacing. I chose the theme "geometric" based on the background fabric.

The book below is a mixed media travelling journal. I used a map of Australia from an old book to go with the travelling theme.

Also managed to make a couple more fabric postcards.

This 'n' That

I've been making more postcards. Above is my first try at an altered photograph. It's a photo taken at the War Memorial in Melbourne. I've sanded it down and scratched in patterns and words. I added colour with aqua markers. Lastly it was stamped and then doodled with gel pens.

The cards below are all mixed media fabric postcards with free machine embroidery.

Here is my latest fairy door ATC; it belongs to the Fairy Godmother.

Some mixed media journal pages:

A Little Sewing

I've been making some mini quilts for some swaps. Above is my first attempt at a mug rug. Below is a stitched journal page with the theme "pattern".

In another swap the challenge was to make a Teesha Moore style patch with a pocket. She shows how to make them in a 4 part video series.

I made a fabric Teesha style girl for my pocket which was transferred to fabric from a previous collage I had made using transfer artists paper.

3 Days of Glorious Me Time

I just took three 5 hours classes with Tania from Bfree2create. Tania is a awesome lady who does just about every kind of art you can think of! Above is my piece from the "Matters of the Heart" assembled class. It's covered in acrylic paints, collage papers, beads, bits of jewellery, door knobs, paper clips, metal charms and more.

These collaged sculptures started as whiskey bottles. They were made in Tania's "Altered bottle" class. They were first covered in napkins and paper and then I used just about anything I could lay my hands on to decorate them with; including more mini bottles, poison labels, paint, fabric, lace, ribbon, old jewellery, beads, fabric flowers and more.

I also took Tania's "Whimsy Wonders" painting class. I haven't finished my 2 canvases yet but here's work in progress:
