I followed a tutorial in "Fabric Art Collage" to make the background for this piece. It started with black and white print fabric scraps and tissue papers glued together to make a single piece. This was then painted with acrylics and stamped using StazOn inks.
I then free machine on more lacy fabric scraps and pieces of hand dyed cheesecloth. The flowers were cut from a fabric with a circular print and machine stitching layered on top. A few hand embroidered French knots added a little more texture.
