Bright and Bold Dyed Textiles with Mono-Prints

I currently working on this colourful fabric piece. I cut a jug stencil from freezer paper which gave me both a negative and positive shape. It's very easy to temporarily attach these stencils to fabric by ironing them on. Thickened dye was scraped into or around the stencil. I used a commercial stencil with the thickened dye for the background. Once this was batched, washed and dried I drew a mono-print over the top. I'm not sure how I'm going to add stitching yet.

The poppy example below was made using the same techniques.
