Fusing Fabric to Paper

fused acrylic felt and organza with khadi cotton rag paper

I've been preparing some samples for an upcoming workshop on fusing fabric. As this workshop is for a mixed media group I have been fusing felt and organza shapes directly to Khadi paper. I first painted and stamped the paper with inks and acrylics. The felt shapes were made as in previous posts and then directly fused to the paper, no glue or stitching needed. The heat of the soldering iron melts the felt which then acts like a glue to the paper. The sample below was fused to the paper then ripped into strips before being stitched back together with a little help from water-soluble stabiliser.
