Wunderkammer - An Art Quilt

I've been using some of my favourite techniques to make this art quilt titled "Wunderkammer". Wunderkammer or "cabinets of curiosity" were popular in Renaissance Europe and were the forerunners to many of the great museums. This quilt is for the Western Australian Quilters Association challenge which this year is "curiosity". It features one of my amphorae screen/mono prints stitched with free motion. The boarder features a commercial fabric inspired by the dictionary. The small amphorae were added with a bleach sponge print whilst the patterned boarder is inspired by Greek vase design and was painted on in bleach. This piece even has a proper (ish!) quilt binding, the first I have managed to make without watching You-Tube!
