Fabric Sculptures Part 2

The next stage in making my fabric sculptures is to cut the sheet of decorated interfacing into pieces ready to assemble into a pyramid shape. It's always a good idea to make a paper mock-up first to make sure that everything works. I cut a backing fabric at the same time. All the raw edges need to be sealed by stitching a tight zig-zag all over them. It gets quite tricky with the thin point.

This is how the back looks.

Next any other motifs, embellishment or stitching on the machine needs to be done before it is assembled. I've added some silk paper and some thick stitching done in the bobbin. I've cut out holes and filled them with stitch sewn on soluble fabric.
