I'm working on the final version of my burnt leaf quilt. In the last couple of days I have fused organza with a soldering iron to make a stripy fabric.
I cut this diagonally and then fused it to some felt before cutting out the leaf shape. No sewing or glue here, just melted together with the soldering iron.
I then distressed the leaves front and back with the heat gun.
I'm now working out how to incorporate some eco-dyed silks, lino prints and vintage paper with the leaves into the final design.
