Face Proportions
I have a new notebook with squared paper in it. I thought this might be ideal for drawing faces as it can be very difficult to get them symmetrical as you can see from the images below where I have reflected each side.
By looking in the mirror I established that the height of a face is about 1.5 times its width. I used those proportions on the girl at the top of the page. I tried altering the proportions to see the effect.
This girl has the length of her face increased compared to the width.
This girl has a shorter face compared to the width. The rounder face makes her appear younger.
