Design Development

I've spent a whole day in the art room expanding my design ideas for my cairn landscapes. I'm nearly ready to transfer my ideas to fabric.

I've been printing with my Gelli® plate on fabric and paper. Some of the clean-up papers came out nice too once I added more colour with watercolours. I've also printed some transfer paper which will enable me to iron the design onto fabric.

I've used collage and paint pens to add some stylised cairns to the landscape. Collage is great because you can photocopy it to try out different scales and you can try out lots of different compositions before sticking it down.

I've also printed some pebble designs. I'll cut those out and collage them into cairns.
