Deconstructed Screen Printing on Fabric
Create unpredictable and surprising prints on fabric using the deconstructed screen print technique. Apply thickened dyes using various tools and found objects before printing the designs onto fabric. This workshop uses Procion dyes which are fully washable on cotton fabrics.
Indigo Dying
Watch the magic as indigo dyed fabric turns from green to a beautiful blue right before your eyes in this workshop. Various folding and resist techniques will be shown to enable you to make a range of amazing patterns. You could even dye a T-shirt (bring your own – 100% cotton).
Beginners Procion Dyeing
Learn the basics of procion dyeing on cotton in this colourful workshop. We will cover basic colour mixing, colour exchange dyeing, low emersion dyeing and simple tie dye. Bring a T-shirt (100%) cotton if you would like a tie dyed shirt. This dyed fabrics will be fully washable.
Beginners Printing with Thickened Dyes
Use brushes, stencils, print blocks and textures to create exciting and colourful fabrics with thickened procion dyes. Create unique fabrics that are just not available in the shops. These fabrics will be fully washable when finished.
Fabric Dyeing with Batik
Use hot wax resist to pattern fabrics before dyeing them with procion dyes. Layer up the patterns for some spectacular colour mixing effects. Due to the nature of hot wax this workshop is not suitable for young children.
I’m available to teach in-person workshops for children, adults, schools and community groups. Tools and equipment are provided for all classes unless otherwise stated, consumable materials can be provided on request.
